Sex Therapy

I offer specialist therapy for individuals and couples with sexual difficulties.

Often sexual problems and relationship difficulties are connected, and it is not uncommon for couples to be unhappy with their sexual relationship. This is such a sensitive area for many people and they struggle to talk about it. My role includes breaking down communication barriers and facilitating open discussions without embarrassment.

By exploring the issues together, it is possible to understand why these problems have happened to make a plan for moving forward. I have worked with clients presenting with a wide range of sexual issues over many years.

Do you belong to a professional body?

Yes. I am an Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a member of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT) and the Association for the Treatment of Sex Addiction and Compulsivity (ATSAC).

These organisations require evidence of qualifications and good professional standards and I am bound by their codes of conduct and provide complaints procedures should this be required.

Fees & Sessions

Sessions are available Monday to Wednesday, 8.30 am - 8.30 pm

Individual Counselling - £100

Couple Counselling - £120

What is your cancellation policy?

Sessions that are cancelled with less than 48 hours notice are chargeable in full unless there are extenuating circumstances.

How can I pay?

I use an online scheduling and payment tool. Once a session is confirmed I will send you a link.

How long does psychosexual therapy last?

Psychosexual therapy typically lasts 12-20 sessions.

The actual number depends on the issues you are exploring and how you choose to work.

Sessions last 50 minutes.

How frequent will the sessions be?

I usually meet clients on a weekly basis, but I understand that this is not always convenient, and make every effort to be flexible where possible.

Will the sessions be confidential?

Yes, everything is confidential in the counselling room unless I feel that someone is at risk of hurting themselves or someone else. My counselling room is completely private and I follow the guidance of my professional bodies in the way I take and store notes.

There is always a gap between sessions so it is highly unlikely that clients would meet each other.

Will I need to put time aside outside the sessions?

Sex therapy involves committing to 2-3 hours a week outside the sessions.

You will be asked to undertake tasks between counselling sessions.
